- Leominster School Committee, 6 years 1988-1993
- Leominster City Councillor-Ward 3, 16 years 1993-present
- Had the meetings audiotaped and videotaped for Cablevision
- Began renovations of City Council Chambers
- Successful implementation on the senior citizen tax rebate program
- Introduction of the adult zoning ordinance
- Introduction of the cellular tower ordinance
- Served on all city committees
- Served as Finance Committee Chair in 1996 before becoming Council president in 1997.
- Authored the first statewide legislation to protect firefighters when dealing with chemical storage and risk of explosion. Many communities have sought information for implementation in Massachusetts cities and towns.
